I have learned a lot of the past seven weeks of taking this course and I think one of the most important things to know is that all children are not the same. With that being said one of my favorite quotes and one I feel I base my teaching strategy on is
“If they can't learn the way we teach, we must teach the way they learn”
―
O. Ivar Lovaas.
I think this quote is very important to making sure that you are meeting the diverse needs of all of the learners you are working with. I would like to thank everyone over the past few weeks for their insight and information it will prove to be very helpful in future endeavors. I will leave everyone with one last picture that shows just how important we are to children in our career. \
I would like to thank you for inquiring about my blog throughout this course. Thanks for making comments and giving your impact on my posts about different topics. I wish you the best of luck in all of your future endeavors.
ReplyDeleteGreat post! I agree with quote and I believe it’s the best one yet. Children aren’t the same and as teachers we have to learn how to teach all different styles. If teachers don’t understand a child’s way of learning the child will struggle tremendously in that teacher’s class.
Hello Brittany,
ReplyDeleteYou made a very true and interesting point: all children are not the same, and this is something that I too have become more aware of as the course has gone on. This course has taught me to be open and objective and try to teach better or tailor the teachings to the children. Child development is so rich and important to understand. You made very valid points about understanding diversity in learning styles. I wish you all the best in the future on this educational journey, and hopefully, we will cross paths again, and get a chance to speak on other great topics!
