My Supports

The first thing I do when I get up every morning is brush my teeth and wash my face. I then use to have breakfast already cooked for me by my husband, which was a great way to start my day and it showed me his love and support. On a daily basis, I miss that because my husband took a job out of the state and I don’t’ have his support as much anymore in terms of being there.  His support is still there over the phone and I know he is a phone call away but it’s not the same as having him by my side day in and day out. I also have my two daughters that give their support. One is in college and the other one is married so they both have their lives to attend to. My daughters are very supportive and are also there for me when I need him. I also have the support of my sisters in my life. I see some member of my family more than once a week and they help me out around the house since I miss the support of having my husband there.  One easy way I feel support is that my brother in law has been fixing things around my house for me when they are breaking. He has been a great “stand in” to do some of the things my husband use to do since he cannot be there right now. Having the support of my family is the thing that keeps me going every day.

One challenge that I am facing that I need lots of support is my battle to lose weight. I have been trying to lose wait for some time now by walking. My husband use to walk with me every day after work so I am struggling to find that extra support to motivate me to work out. I have decided that I would like to get my stomach done, with that being said I am going to need physical and emotional support from my family as I go through this. After the surgery I may need help doing easy things around the house for a while. Without my family and friends this challenge that I am about to face would be hard. We have set in plans for when I have the surgery and they are planning to take turns to help me get better. Without their support I probably could not have this surgery.  I thank God for my family and friends every day.
